Mary Little Tyler Celebrated During Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Foundation Gala In 1970s Style


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Kalamazoo, Michigan, May 19, 2017 – The 1970s themed Heritage Community Foundation Gala raised $50,000 for the Heritage Legacy Fund, which assures residents that if, through unexpected circumstances, they can no longer cover their own living costs, their home will always be secure at Heritage Community.

“Donor gifts provide an average of $37 per day to help bridge the financial gap for a resident. We are honored to receive this generous support from the philanthropic community in support of the residents at Heritage Community through the Heritage Legacy Fund,” Kim Loftus, Executive Director, Heritage Community Foundation.

The Gala took take place on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Cityscapes Event Center in downtown Kalamazoo with 193 guests in attendance. The Purple Poppy Award was presented to Mary Little Tyler for her service, support, impact and advocacy on behalf of older adults at Heritage Community and Southwest Michigan.

1970s style was encouraged, and prizes were awarded:
