Ways To Give

Meet Sophie

Heritage Community of Kalamazoo Foundation - A Legacy of Care

Donations assist our residents so that they can “remain in their home,” even when they have exhausted their financial resources. One such resident is Sophie. She began calling Heritage Community of Kalamazoo home about 14 years ago. “I like the people that live and work here” Sophie commented, “It’s important to me to have the freedom from being a burden to my family and the relief to know that I will always be taken care of.”

Because of donors like you, residents like Sophie, have the peace of mind that Heritage will always be home. The Heritage Legacy Fund is supported by donations from residents and their families, Heritage Community staff and board members, and the greater community.

Sophie is a very modest and considerate person, “I am very grateful to know that there are so many people in the world that are so giving to people that they don’t even know. It has made my life much more pleasant and fulfilling because I can be at ease knowing that Heritage Community will always be my home.”

The work of the Heritage Community Foundation directly and indirectly enhances our ability to change lives of residents, their families, and community members through philanthropy.

Ways to Give

Donors help make remarkable differences in our ability to provide exemplary services. Heritage Community Foundation accepts many types of gifts, and greatly appreciates the generous and thoughtful support received from our donors.

Gifts are tax-deductible. Also, there are ways to make a gift that offer additional tax incentives. For example, some allow you to avoid capital gains on appreciated assets; others may significantly reduce your estate taxes.

The Heritage Community Foundation staff is available to help you and your financial advisor determine the best type of gift to make in order to experience the greatest tax advantage.
